The Maharini and her good mate and travelling companion, Nigel, or Nigella to those in the know, are in the throes of organising their travels in the Taj.
The route has been agreed, the tours have been haggled over (ah, the aromatic smell of camel breath in the evening!), and of course, the "must have" scenic flights over Uluru and the Bungle Bungles.
Hero camera is up and ready, along with Camcorder and hand held cameras, tripods and batteries all stocked and ready to go. Good tip - buy your camera batteries online - half the price of store bought.
The Taj has had a few little adventures to get her up and ready and a recent purchase of a small TV complete with DVD player and HDMI will get us over the line, especially if Nigella drives me nuts with his blather on occasion. (Will hear about that comment, I am sure!)
After having known my good pal Nigel for nearly 25 years, this trip could be the continuation or demise of a great friendship! Nup. We've travelled together before, so we'll just ignore each other for most of the time!!
New WIFI travelling modem bought along with upgrading the ubiquitous mobile phone. Yes, I hear all the shouts of "hooray" and "I don't believe it", BUT it is still a NOKIA with Microsoft. Stuff Apple. I like to be able to download my stuff directly from my cell to PC, not have to go to the Cloud to get it - and I don't like to be beholden to a supplier for all my goodies.Go Android! AND, I must say, the camera on the Nokia is a real beauty and incredibly good visual features to make the photos/videos spectacular. Eat your hear out iPhone.....LOL
My friend Jenny and I travelled for the weekend to Philip Island and it gave me a good idea of how the small space will work with 2 people - in one word - Organisation! It has to be organised and tucked away or it will be a nightmare. But, we will get into a routine after the first week, otherwise one of us will probably be found hoofing a ride home with the thumb out on the highway......Nigella would probably do rather well; in effect, better than me, I would suspect. :-)))
More to come in the days ahead on the planning and perhaps a few photos to get the knack of it.
Salutations for now.
